It would be a huge omission if I didn’t say that my mood’s been inwardly reflective and pensive this week following the news of David Bowie’s death. Like so many people, my first instinct in my processing of this was to listen to the songs that spoke loudest and clearest to me.
There are so many things I enjoyed about the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit, from his graphic mastery of line and composition, to the descriptive atmosphere the collection paints of a time and place, to the use of color and coloring techniques to achieve dimension and texture.
